If you’re ready to try something different, this camping resort offers cabins set directly on water. Each bungalow is set on its own private pond and it comes complete with its own wood burning stove, a composting toilet and a BBQ area. There’s no electricity or hot water here, but the cabins have glass showers that pump water from the pond as you use them. There no on-site facilities but you can order breakfast to be delivered every morning from the nearby village Holašovice, which is a UNESCO site.
Safari Campsite
Designed to look like safari camps you’d find in Africa, this campsite is unique for one very special reason. It is located inside a zoo. What this means, of course, is unobstructed views of all kinds of animals. The treetop luxury tents look right into the area that houses the African animals. Other camping options include renting a spacious African safari tent or renting a bungalow. If you bring your own tent or camper, you’ll have to camp right outside the zoo limits, but anybody who stays at least two nights gets free tickets to the zoo. Dogs are welcome in all areas of the camp, including the zoo itself).
Camp Branna
Camp Branná sits right against the Vltava river, in a picturesque area that is well known for its rafting and canoeing. While you’re welcome to bring your own tent and set up house anywhere in the campsite’s 30 000 square meters (there are no assigned spaces), you can also come empty handed and rent a cozy place to sleep. The camp offers insulated/heated cabins (hello, winter camping!) and, for something different, teepees that come complete with their own indoor fireplace. Well maintained facilities, which include food stands and restaurants, playgrounds and boat rentals make this is an ideal destination for both rest and fun.
