SVG Europe Sports TV Awards 2022: Winners announced

SVG Europe is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Sports TV Awards, sponsored by Canon.

The SVG Europe Sports TV Awards recognise and honour the outstanding companies, teams and individuals that pushed sports broadcasting and production forward within the previous calendar year.

The judges look to reward people, organisations and projects, big or small, that have led by example, experimented, taken risks, overcome the challenges of COVID, and achieved results that can contribute to the continuing forward momentum and success of the industry as a whole.

The 2022 winners are:

Outstanding Production Achievement – Event: Aurora Media Worldwide and NEP – Extreme E Season 1
Outstanding Production Achievement – Innovation: Aurora Media Worldwide – Super League Triathlon Arena Games
Outstanding OTT or Engagement Experience: Dizplai and BT Sport – Champions League Tonight
Outstanding Audio Innovation: OBS – Immersive audio coverage for Tokyo 2020 Olympics
One Planet Award for Sustainability in Sports TV: Aurora Media Worldwide and NEP – Extreme E Season 1
SVG Europe Women Award for Diversity in Sports TV: Whisper – Get Involved

SVG Europe editorial director, and chair of the judges, George Bevir said: “Congratulations to all the winners and everyone who was shortlisted. They should all be rightly proud of their achievements. The jury’s choices reflect the best of sports television in Europe but also highlight the incredible work that the industry continues to do. Long may it continue.”

The SVG Europe Sports TV Awards 2022, sponsored by Canon, took place on Thursday 8 September at the DeLaMar Theater in Amsterdam as part of the Sport Production Summit.
