Green to Screen by IMG Studios

In March 2021, IMG launched ‘Green to Screen’, its fully-inclusive initiative to dramatically draw down CO2 and avoid a point of no return, for which it has been shortlisted in the ‘One Planet Award for Sustainability in Sports TV’ category at SVG Europe’s prestigious Sports TV Awards 2021.

Led by Sarita Neto and a group of passionate and driven individuals across the business, alongside the buy-in of all senior management, IMG Studios’ objective has been to evaluate, and reduce their environmental impact going forward. Alongside inviting all of their staff to attend Sustainable Production Training this year, they have already made a positive start with the entire Stockley Park building at 5 Longwalk now being powered by 100% renewable energy.

Being able to control their facilities has given IMG the ability to ensure that all four of their studios, nine live galleries, and more than 45 edit suites are powered by sun, wind, biogen, and water. Additionally, there are LED lights in IMG’s studios, electric vehicle charging points in their car park, and no plastic cups in the canteen.

The winners of the SVG Europe Sports TV Awards 2021, sponsored by Canon, will be announced on Thursday 28 October at Chelsea F.C. during the Sport Production & Technology Summit 2021. Registration for both events is now open to members and sponsors here.
