The first speaker has been announced for SVG Europe’s Sports Graphics Spotlight 2023, sponsored by Ross Video.
In a keynote interview, BK Johannessen, Epic Games business director for Unreal Engine, will outline how the real-time 3D creation tool has brought a new level of realism to live sports graphics and share his vision for where Unreal Engine, and sports graphics in general, are heading next.
He will also discuss Project Avalanche, an innovation that sees the game engine used as an end-to-end live-broadcast-graphics tool, replacing the need for rendering with the ability to create real-time 2D and 3D GFX.
Taking place online on the afternoon of Wednesday 22 February, Sports Graphics Spotlight will discuss how 2D, 3D and AR can be successfully deployed to improve storytelling and aid presentation during live sports coverage.
Other sessions will include a look at best practice for virtual production in sports broadcasting, with a panel of experts sharing the challenges and possible solutions, and a Thought Leader Perspectives debating what’s next for sports graphics.
