“Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP) is a pillar in transforming the Republic of Moldova into a top regional tech hub. With constant government support and the implementation of innovative policies, MITP has managed to attract global talent and investments, thereby consolidating Moldova’s position on the international tech stage. Our vision is to transform Moldova into a top destination for technology and innovation, and the results achieved so far justify our belief that we are on the right track,” said Marina Bzovîi, MITP Administrator.

Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP) was established in 2018 and now hosts over 1800 active residents, more than 250 of which are foreign capital companies from over 40 countries such as the USA, Romania, Germany, UK, Russia, Italy, Ukraine, France, and the Netherlands. The foreign capital companies in MITP operate in a variety of sectors, including software development, data processing, web administration, and IT consultancy and specialized design. Thanks to the favorable business environment within MITP, park residents contribute 5% to the GDP, and tech service exports account for 90% of the total turnover of MITP residents.

MITP has become not only a local tech hub but also a substantial actor impacting Moldova’s national economy and international tech relations. Most IT specialists in Moldova are employed by MITP residents, over 21,700 individuals. Employees of Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP) residents benefit from competitive salaries comparable to those in the European IT market, with an average monthly salary of around €2,100. Due to MITP’s specific framework, the net salary received by employees is equal to the gross salary, as it is taxed at a final flat rate.

To adapt to global trends, Moldova has introduced the concept of a “flexible work formula,” an innovative measure allowing flexibility and room for negotiation in working conditions, essential for both resident companies and IT specialists. This new opportunity considers relationships with Ukrainian talent and companies, and can also be an important tool for businesses from other countries looking to benefit from the single tax and advantageous legislation. MITP supports and develops programs that help residents hire top specialists, both locally and regionally. Exclusively for park residents, the “IT Visa” Program was created, allowing MITP residents to hire foreign citizens and obtain work permits under more favorable and extended conditions. More details can be found here: IT Visa Program.

The procedure to obtain resident status is simple, free, and quick. More details on how companies can become residents of Moldova Innovation Technology Park can be found here: Become a Resident.

About Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP)

The Government of Moldova launched MITP at the beginning of 2018 as an innovative platform with a single 7% tax, committed to developing Moldova’s tech ecosystem and enhancing its regional competitiveness. Park residents have been offered simplified immigration procedures (IT Visa Program), reduced bureaucratic barriers, and a virtual presence.

MITP is the central access point to the best services and incentives in the IT sector. MITP has proven its uniqueness by being a virtual structure operating under a multi-stakeholder governance model.

MITP’s mission is to act as a catalyst for IT sector investments by promoting flexible government policies, fostering a favorable environment for ICT (Information and Communication Technology) innovation, and driving the digital transformation of the economy through a strong IT sector that can open up opportunities. Created for a period of 20 years, the park hosts over 1800 active residents, more than 250 of which are foreign capital companies from over 40 countries. Resident companies generate 21,700 jobs with an average monthly salary of 41,000 MDL and an annual turnover of over 12.4 billion MDL.
