NASA Posts Photos Asking Moon or Frying Pan

NASA is getting saucy on social media. In a recent tweet, the scientists behind the Europa mission posed an arduous question challenging followers to discern which image was Jupiter’s famous moon and which were just shots of a frying pan. As you can see, it’s nowhere near as easy as it would seem. They all look, um, the same. But slightly different. Okay, we’re officially confused.

The organization let the question sit, untouched, for four days—without a single hint, no doubt infuriating tons of people (including everyone at Delish HQ). But today we got our answer. Sort of.

The striking shots are the work of Norwegian fine art photographer  Christopher Jonassen. In his “Devour” series is a collection of frying pans in various states of disrepair. Okay, so since NASA gave us no reveal about which was, in fact, Europa, we’re assuming that they’re just being internet trolls—or at least crazy hype generators—this week. But we have to admit: These are the most beautiful shots of beat-up skillets we’ve ever seen.
