There’s food, there’s indulgent food (think cheesecakeadillas and cookie dough s’mores), and then there’s just plain WTF?! The deep fried macaroni and cheese grilled cheese sandwich exists, but before you get all judgy about it—hear it out. It actually kind of makes sense, y’all.

You’ve probably seen macaroni and cheese between bread before—been there, done that, old news—but I’m willing to bet you haven’t seen deep fried macaroni and cheese patties as the bread. Dude Foods just made this sandwich entirely next-level. It’s two macaroni and cheese squares (made with Cheddar) cut the same size as bread, dropped in the deep fryer, filled with six slices of Havarti cheese (because that would be serious Cheddar overload. Also, go big or go home. Let’s be real, we’re not eating a salad, here), and then grilled up sandwich style. I’m not sure whether to be hungry or afraid.

It might be a tad bit over-the-top, but you can’t say it doesn’t fit the definition to a tee. When you see the name grilled cheese, do you see any bread in there? Nope. Didn’t think so. This sandwich is literal and actual grilled cheese. Well played, Dude Foods.
