American outposts of Starbucks recently rolled out a brand new beverage — the Vanilla Macchiato. But, according to Grub Street, we might be getting the short end of the coffee stick because Starbucks Canada just released the way cooler sounding Maple Macchiato. The beverage will become a mainstay on menus in Canada. It features, “real Quebec maple syrup drizzle from the Beauce-Appalache region.” Apparently America dabbled with Maple Macchiatos for a limited-time but they haven’t been around since sometime in 2012.

To be fair, the Delish team did have a chance to try the new Vanilla Macchiato, and for a super-sweet coffee drink we were pretty pleased with the results.

Do you wish Starbucks had brought Maple Macchiato to the U.S. or are you happy with the vanilla version?

Headshot of Zoe Bain7-second life story: I was pre-med in college, until I realized that I could turn baking my problems away (instead of doing my chem homework) into a profession.

Hometown: Los Angeles

3 things I make better than anyone else: Pancakes (they are a Sunday morning staple for the Bain family), cookie dough (I will take the raw stuff over just-out-of-the-oven cookies any day), chili

Recipe I’m on the eternal hunt for: The easiest-ever, throw-together soup that I still have time to make after work

Kitchen technique I just can’t get right: Poaching eggs. I swirl the water, just like everyone says I should, but it never works. #fail
