It can be tough to make getting good grades seem cool, but one pizza joint has got it all figured out. According to Gawker, Greenville House of Pizza, an eatery in New Hampshire, is giving away free pizza in exchange for good grades. High school students can cash in “A” grades for slices — each “A” is worth one free piece of pizza. Additionally, all students can participate in the “Study Hall Special”: slices are marked down to 35 cents each for students who do their homework at the pizzeria. The owner even offers to help kids who are having trouble with their assignments. And that’s not all. There’s another incentive for finishing homework at the restaurant. “If you complete your assignments to my satisfaction, you will earn a complementary Root Beer float,” states a sign on the door.

7-second life story: I was pre-med in college, until I realized that I could turn baking my problems away (instead of doing my chem homework) into a profession.
Hometown: Los Angeles
3 things I make better than anyone else: Pancakes (they are a Sunday morning staple for the Bain family), cookie dough (I will take the raw stuff over just-out-of-the-oven cookies any day), chili
Recipe I’m on the eternal hunt for: The easiest-ever, throw-together soup that I still have time to make after work
Kitchen technique I just can’t get right: Poaching eggs. I swirl the water, just like everyone says I should, but it never works. #fail
