The exhibition "Ireland and the Birth of Europe" is open until March 8

St. Columbus was the first of the Irish missionaries and scholars to settle on the continent and around the year 600 became the first to write “The Whole of Europe” (totis Europae). He and his followers contributed to shaping the European heritage that Ireland continues to develop today.

dr. Damian Bracken from the University of Cork and Dr. Angela Byne from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs researched, wrote and designed the exhibition which is touring Europe and the world, with Studio Suss responsible for the graphic design. The exhibition was open from February 16 to March 8 this year.

Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland in the Republic of Croatia H.J. E. Ruaidhri Mark Dowling gave a short lecture related to this exhibition and opened the exhibition, and the director of the City Museum, Ana Filipović, gave an introductory address to everyone.

It’s on behalf of the event VukovarMarko Vukolić from the Administrative Department for Tourism and Culture of the Sko-Srijem County was also present.
