It’s bracelet season, yet again.

Just 69 days after the final bracelet of the 2024 World Series of Poker was awarded in Las Vegas, the first bracelet of the WSOP Europe has been handed out at the Kings Casino Rozvadov in the Czech Republic.

Poland’s Przemyslaw Szymanski navigated his way through a field of 3,509 entries in the €350 buy-in no-limit hold’em ‘Opener’ tournament to secure the hardware and the top prize of $128,039.

This was the largest score yet for Szymanski by far, blowing away the $2,436 he earned for a runner-up finish in a €115 buy-in at the 2021 European Poker Festival.

This event was up 6 entries year-over-year, with the strong showing seeing the €1,000,000 guarantee bested by nearly €40,000.

There were seven starting flights to choose from, including one run at Kings Resort Prague. The final day began with just 20 contenders remaining and Szymanski in a virtual tie for the lead with Dmitrij Fadeev.

Those two made it to the final table in the middle of the pack, with Daniel Trunk having overtaken the lead. Trunk scored a couple of knockouts as the field was narrowed to five. At that point, Szymanski got involved in a big clash with A-Q facing the pocket kings of Fadeev. Ater all of the chips went in preflop, the board brought the other three queens to give Szymanski quads and the double up. Fadeev was left short and was soon eliminated in fifth place $41,681.

Trunk scored two more knockouts to set up three-handed play with Szymanski and Rostyslav Sabishchenko. Trunk won a race with pocket sixes against Sabishchenko’s A-9 to take the lead into heads-up.

Trunk got all-in with trip fours leading the aces and fours of Szymanski, and was one card away from securing the bracelet. The AClub Suit on the end improved Szymanski to aces full, though, leaving Trunk on fumes. He was soon all-in with KClub Suit43Diamond Suit facing the 9Club Suit3Club Suit of Szymanski.
