The collaboration will deploy Siemens’ SICHARGE D high-power chargers and Sifinity Control backend system, optimizing network management and reliability. The agreement covers key markets, including Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the UK, with a goal of adding at least 1,000 new public charging points per year. The partnership also focuses on future technologies like truck and Megawatt charging to support growing demand for electric vehicles.

(PRESS RELEASE) ZUG, 16-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens AG (ETR: SIE), a German multinational conglomerate and Europe’s largest industrial manufacturing company, announces that it has entered into a strategic partnership with E.ON to expand E.ON’s public charging infrastructure across Europe, focusing on fast and efficient electric vehicle charging solutions. The global framework agreement includes Siemens’ SICHARGE D high-power chargers and its web-based backend system, Sifinity Control, allowing E.ON to optimize network management and ensure high uptime for users. The collaboration aims to strengthen charging networks in key markets such as Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the UK, supporting E.ON’s goal of installing at least 1,000 public charging points annually.

The agreement also includes the provision of IoT-enabled substations, enhancing the energy management for charging stations and providing flexibility to adapt to various regional requirements. Additionally, the partnership will explore future technologies, such as truck and Megawatt charging, to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle infrastructure.

E.ON’s Chief Operating Officer, Arjan Van Der Eijk, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating that Siemens’ reliable hardware and customized services will ensure a stable network and enhanced charging experience. This agreement marks another step toward building a robust, future-proof charging infrastructure across Europe, driving the decarbonization of road transport.
