Moldovan officials, representing the Government and key Ministries, provided their insights into how the European Child Guarantee can strengthen the country’s health, education, and social protection systems.
Svetlana Nicolaescu, Deputy General Secretary of the Ministry of Health, added, “ensuring that every child has access to quality healthcare is a cornerstone of Moldova’s commitment to the European Child Guarantee. By addressing health disparities and improving access to essential medical services, we are working to create a healthier future for all children, particularly those from vulnerable communities. With the support of UNICEF, and the European Union, we are dedicated to building a healthcare system that leaves no child behind and fosters equal opportunities for every child to grow and thrive”.
Vasile Cușcă, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, emphasized the need for targeted interventions, stating, “the European Child Guarantee offers Moldova a vital opportunity to strengthen its protection system, ensuring that no child is left behind. By focusing on the most vulnerable – those living in poverty, children with disabilities, and those in precarious family situations – we are taking important steps to overcome exclusion and create a fairer society. With the support of our international partners, we are committed to honoring this promise and building a future where every child can thrive, no matter their background”.
