The Council of Europe’s Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO) has published thematic reports on Albania and Monaco’s implementation of the Istanbul Convention. The findings acknowledge positive developments, such as legal reforms, but also stress the need for improved support services and strategic long-term planning to combat domestic violence effectively.

GREVIO’s findings aim to strengthen policies, data collection, and victim protection services. The report on Albania highlights progress in policies and legislation but recommends improving victim support services, training for professionals, and data collection. Whilst acknowledging legal reforms and public awareness efforts in Monaco, the country report recommends developing a comprehensive long-term strategy, setting up a 24/7 helpline, and establishing specialised rape crisis centres, among other findings.

Read the full reports to learn more about GREVIO’s findings and recommendations.
