“I am pleased that we are sending career diplomats to Sarajevo and Chisinau who are good managers and have great experience in specific regions. I wish both Jana Lolić Šindelková and Jaromír Plíšek successful work in their new destinations,” said Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský.
Jana Lolić Šindelková has been in the Czech Foreign Service since 2002. Between 2010 and 2014, she was responsible for the Western Balkans in the Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy in Brussels, from 2015 to 2019 she was the Special Envoy for Eastern Partnership and since 2020 she has been in charge of the Western Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, she served in the OSCE Mission contributing to the country’s post-war reconstruction from 1999 to 2001.
Jaromír Plíšek joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1993, managing the Department of Compatriots and Non-Governmental Relations, the Department of Central European Countries, and from 2005 to 2006 he served as Senior Director of the European Countries Section. He also worked for three years in Prague as Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was Czech Ambassador to Romania from 1997 to 2001 and Ambassador to Hungary from 2006 to 2010.
Both of these ambassadors already have the consent of the receiving country, the so-called agrément. Jana Lolić Šindelková will leave for Sarajevo in mid-July and Jaromír Plíšek will take up his post in Chisinau in mid-September.
