The European Commission proposed an EU Action Plan for Grids in late 2023 to deliver on the European Green Deal. They estimate that around €584 billion will be needed for electricity infrastructure investments between 2020 and 2030, with a strong focus on the distribution grid.

In her State of the Union address, Ursula von der Leyen announced plans to introduce an EU Water Resilience Strategy to strengthen Europe’s water security, within the broader context of the green transition and efforts to combat climate change.

This report explores how digital technologies can support the energy and green transition, from modernising grids to managing wastewater and improving water quality.
