Matalan has expanded its international footprint with the opening of its first stores in Malta. The expansion forms part of a new partnership with leading retail company The Camilleri Group.

The stores opened at The Strand, Sliema and Zabbar Road, Fgura, with the brand’s full range of products, from affordable fashion for the whole family to stylish homewares.
“We are thrilled to be opening our first stores in Malta, trading has been very strong in both of our new stores exceeding our expectations; we have been delighted by the local customers’ reactions to our product ranges and our competitive price position,” commented Matalan international Director Damian Hopkins.
The two new stores in Malta follow the launch of a 2,100 sq mt store in the centre of Yerevan in Armenia in October 2016, and Matalan is currently exploring further opportunities in other territories including Eastern Europe.
Matalan has now 227 stores in the UK and 25 overseas franchise stores, particularly in the Middle East region.
