Slovenia’s Marko Bošnjak elected President of the European Court of Human Rights

The European Court of Human Rights has elected Marko Bošnjak – the judge in respect of Slovenia – as its new President, to succeed Ireland’s Síofra O’Leary.

The Court has also elected a new Vice-President, Norway’s Arnfinn Bårdsen, and a new Section President, Ivana Jelić of Montenegro.

All three judges will take up their new roles on 2 July 2024.
