All you need to know: FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023, Division C - FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023, Division C

A total of eight teams will compete for the title in Division C. They have been split into two groups of four. The Group Phase is as follows.

Group A: Armenia, Georgia, Malta, Gibraltar
Group B: Andorra, Moldova, Albania, Azerbaijan

What is the schedule?

The Group Phase will take place across the first three days of the tournament with a rest day on July 21 before the competition moves onto the Semi-Finals on July 22. The Final will take place on July 23, with the final Classification games also determining each of the eight positions.

Who were the winners in 2022?

Cyprus lifted the title for the second successive tournament with a 58-42 triumph over Armenia. Evdokia Patsalidou top scored with 17 points for the champions as they used a 27-5 third period to pull clear on their way to victory.

Cyprus are not participating this year, but Armenia and Malta will be pushing to step further up the podium.

Former MVPs

Despite coming up short in the Final, there was solace for Armenia’s Seda Gabrielyan after earning the MVP award with averages of 24.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 5.8 steals and 2.6 assists per game.

Roll of honor

Cyprus are four-time winners of the event having lifted the title in the two most recent editions in 2019 and 2022. They were inaugural champions in 2000 before a 13-year wait for their second triumph. Scotland have three titles to their name and 11 medals overall, while Iceland have also won the competition on three occasions.
