Several Air Products facilities in Europe have been awarded for commitment to safety by the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA).

The association awarded 49 Air Products plants with safety awards, with four belonging to Carburos Metálicos, an Air Products subsidiary based in Spain.

Ivo Bols, President of Air Products for Europe and Africa, said the awards are testament to the company’s safety culture and the hard work of its staff throughout Europe.

“We are dedicated to ensuring a safe working environment and continually improving our safety results. These awards are not only a recognition of our past efforts, but also an incentive to continue striving to achieve high levels of safety.”

Notably, Carburos Metálicos’ Tres Cantos plant, which focuses on the production of industrial and speciality gases, received a Gold 2 Star award.

The award groups the facility with others in Scotland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands that have also earned the distinction in recognition of more than 25 years or more than two. million hours of operation without any accidents involving their employees or those of supplier companies.

Philippe Cornille, Secretary General of EIGA, concluded, “Air Products has consistently demonstrated an exceptional commitment to safety. Its achievement of winning 49 awards this year is a clear reflection of its proactive approach and dedication to fostering a culture of safety across its sites in Europe.”

Founded in 1923, EIGA represents companies involved in the production and distribution of industrial, medical, and food gases. The association awards companies that demonstrate strong performance and innovation in safety.
