The Minister of Defense in Albania, Pirro Vengu, commemorated today the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Southeast European Brigade (SEEBRIG).
Vengu emphasized that one of the regional initiatives of the Southeast European Defense Ministers (SEDM) continues to prove to be an extremely valuable mechanism for promoting regional security, trust and maintaining military cooperation between member states.
For the second time since 1999, this initiative is led by Albania.
“The mandate that started in August last year and is held by a commander of the Armed Forces of Albania, Brigadier General Bilbil Bitri, will last until 2026,” Vengu underlined.
“With the active participation in this important project in the field of defense among the countries of South-Eastern Europe, Albania has shown its commitment that it intends to preserve the spirit of good neighborliness and cooperation for a peaceful development of the region”, emphasized Minister Vengu. /Telegraph/
