Belarusian mineral fertilizers in the first 6 months of 2024 were in the leading positions on the Polish market. This is evidenced by the information of the Ministry of Agriculture of Poland.

It is reported that the share of Belarusian mineral fertilizers (nitrogen, potash and combined) in the Polish market in January — June 2024 amounted to 6.9%. This is the fourth indicator after Russia (29.2%), Germany (20.8%) and Lithuania (7.6%). Belarus is followed by Morocco (4.9%) and the Netherlands (4.1%).

In particular, Belarus was in third place in terms of supplies to Poland uses nitrogen fertilizers, second only to Russia and Germany and ahead of Lithuania, Algeria, Hungary, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan and Nigeria. Combined fertilizers took the 6th position in the Polish market, losing to Morocco, Russia, Finland, the Netherlands and Lithuania, but ahead of Norway. At the same time, potash fertilizers, according to official information, did not arrive in Poland. Their largest suppliers to the Polish market in the first half of the year were Germany, Russia, Canada, Great Britain, China, Spain, Jordan and Israel.

Recall that in 2021, the EU, the USA, the UK and Canada imposed sanctions on Belaruskali. In February 2022, the export of potash fertilizers through the Lithuanian port in Klaipeda stopped, and since March, the bulk cargo terminal of the CGT (Biriu kroviniu terminalas), 30% of which belongs to the Belarusian producer of potash fertilizers, has not worked here for about a year. On February 24, 2023, the Council The EU has updated and extended sanctions against Belarus, which prohibited movement through the territory EU of Belarusian potash fertilizers. In Minsk, the sanctions pressure of the West is called the desire to remove a competitor in the face of Belaruskali from the world market.
