Archaeologists in Denmark have unearthed a Viking Age burial ground containing 50 “exceptionally well-preserved” skeletons.The remains are of men, women and children and finds also include jewellery and grave goods that had originated in other parts of the world. One of the bodies was found buried in a cart. The remains are believed to be those of Viking Age farmers, rather than warriors.
The rare find was made because favourable soil chemistry, particularly chalk and high water levels, preserved the remains, experts said.
