These initiatives also focus on helping survivors achieve long-term economic independence. Their presentations were followed by an engaging discussion with EIB staff, exploring ways to further support survivors and promote human rights.
Since its inception in 2019, Stand Speak Rise Up! has directly supported more than 6,000 women from 13 countries, including Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, and Ukraine. This event at the EIB underscored the collective responsibility to amplify the voices of survivors, work toward ending sexual violence as a weapon of war, and advocate for the protection of human rights.
