© Cindy Dam/Flickr Restaurant Torkel is perched right next to the Herawingert Princely Vineyard and is a stylish venue that features a rustic décor of wooden structures, landscape paintings and an authentic Oriental carpet. A romantic covered terrace gives a view over a blooming garden, with valleys in the not-so-distant background. Whether you choose to dine inside or outside, you’re guaranteed to taste some of the region’s freshest produce, part of the reason why Torkel and its head chef Ivo Berger have received 16 Gault et Milliau points.

Ristorante Enoteca Leonardo
Thanks to its mild climate and steep hills, Liechtenstein is home to passionate wine producers. The Prince of Liechtenstein himself owns a winery, visited by thousands of wine enthusiasts every year. Other wine businesses, such as the Harry Zech Vineyard CANTINA and the Hoop Vineyard, open their doors to tourists, but a wine-tasting session is not quite the same without a rich meal to accompany it. There’s no better place in Liechtenstein than Ristorante Enoteca Leonado to get the best of both worlds. In the country’s finest Italian restaurant, diners can choose from a menu that includes sensational pasta, meat or fish dishes and Italian ice-cream to satisfy their tastebuds.

Bergrestaurant Sareiserjoch
Liechtenstein’s landscape is sprinkled with delightful wooden huts and chalets and Bergrestaurant Sareiserjoch is certainly one of the most traditional and pleasant restaurants around. A tribute to hunting, its décor features lamps made of antlers and a stone fireplace in the centre of the room. Bergrestaurant Sareiserjoch’s menu includes mouth-watering soups, meat and cheese fondue and, during Thursday evenings in winter, raclette, the latter two being typically convivial meals. If the sky is clear, a lunch on the terrace is a must-try, as it offers an amazing view over Liechtenstein’s scenic mountains.

Bangshof
Although Bangshof is not exactly a restaurant, this farmyard plays a very important part in Liechtenstein’s culinary landscape. The door to the Ruggeller Riet nature reservation, where this delightful spot is located, is the place to be on Sundays in spring and summer. Every week, the Bangshof organises a Buura-Zmorga, which is Liechtenstein dialect for ‘farmer’s breakfast’. Join this cheerful buffet and make friends while sampling the country’s best farm products.
