Seaside Spanish town where two-beds homes cost as little as £73k | World | News

Currently, a two-bedroom apartment in the town is selling for just £73,000.  Spanish website The Olive Press says it needs very little work – so you could potentially move straight in.  

One two-bedroom home – with a stunning rooftop terrace that looks over the whole town – is on the market for £82,000 on property portal Idealista. Better still, it’s only a short drive inland from the beach

Talking of beaches,  Torrox  has nine kilometres of fantastic coastline – with plenty of blue flag accredited swimming post. AS well as long stretches of sands, there are a number of coves with beautiful surroundings.

The Peñoncillo, Calaceite, Mazagarrobo and Wilches beaches are said to be particularly worth a visit. and, with average year-round temperature of 18ºC, you can hit the beach for most of the year.

The local tourist board says: “Torrox has a subtropical landscape where its mountains merge into its seven blue flag beaches. Several outstanding examples for their easy access and good services are the El Morche, Torcasol, Ferrara or Peñoncillo beaches.

“History lovers too will find many reasons to go back to Torrox. The town possesses an interesting cultural heritage such as an archaeological site with a Roman forum and the church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación.

“The first is home to the remains of a Roman town, that flourished between the first and forth century AD. The church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación was built in the 16th century and extended in the 17th.

“Its ceilings are made of wooden Mudéjar framework, and outside its tower rises up in a rectangular prism form, and is crowned with a pyramid shaped spire.”
