President urges Bosnia-Herzegovina, Azerbaijan to import Bangladeshi goods

The Head of the State categorically asked the new ambassadors to take necessary measures for increasing the import of various international quality products, including ready-made garments, medicine, ceramics and leather products.
 
Apart from this, he sought the support to employ a big pool of skilled and semi-skilled workers from Bangladesh, as they can contribute to the development works of these countries as well.
 
Subsequently, President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS about the outcome of the meeting this afternoon.
 
The ambassadors presented their respective credentials to the President at the two subsequent state ceremonies – – first ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Dhaka and followed by ambassador to Azerbaijan to Bangladesh.
 
Welcoming the ambassadors at Bangabhaban, President Shahabuddin said the excellent friendly relations between Bangladesh and the other two states have emanated from the historic religious bond and shared commitment to development and international peace and security.
 
He said Bangladesh is very interested in enhancing mutual and multilateral ties in various fields, including trade and investment with Southeast European country Bosnia-Herzegovina and Eastern European state the Republic of Azerbaijan.
 
The President emphasized on the importance of more high-level engagement and mutual visit- exchange of the business, academics, professionals and cultural communities’ delegations for bringing dynamism in the existing bilateral ties.
 
 During the meeting, the new ambassador of Bosnia-Herzegovina lauded the role of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in establishing peace in his country from 1992 to 1995.
 
Highlighting the development potentials of Bangladesh, the ambassador of Azerbaijan said he would do all necessary works to improve his country’s relations with Bangladesh.
 
They sought all-out cooperation of the President in doing their respective assignments in Dhaka while the President assured of providing all necessary cooperation while discharging their duties here.
 
Earlier on their arrivals at Bangabhaban in the morning, a smartly turned-out contingent of the horse-mounted Presidential Guard Regiment (PGR) provided a ‘guard of honour’ to the ambassadors.
 
President Office Senior Secretary Dr Nasimul Ghani, Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury and Foreign Secretary Md Jasim Uddin, among others, were present on the occasion.
