AS Monaco are in Champions League action against FK Crvena Zvezda.

Fans have been reacting on social media after seeing the goal scored by AS Monaco star Wilfried Singo.

On Tuesday night, the Champions League campaign resumed with French Ligue 1 side Monaco taking on Serbian outfit FK Crvena Zvezda.

Former Liverpool man Takumi Minamino gave the hosts the lead inside 20 minutes before Zvezda equalised from the spot seven minutes later thanks to Cherif Ndiaye.

Deep into first-half stoppage time, Swiss international Breel Embolo restored Monaco’s lead.

With his team 2-1 up in the 54th minute, defender Singo lined up a shot from around 25 yards out.

The shot was hit with pure venom as it arrowed into the top corner.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “One of the best goals scored in season.”

Another tweeted: “They said ucl was dead, already more entertaining than last szn.” You can watch the goal below.

Monaco subsequently went 4-1 up, with Minamino scoring his second goal of the game.

Singo signed for the French principality side from Torino in the summer of 2023, having come through the Italian club’s youth system. He represents the Ivory Coast at senior international level.

Adi Hutter’s Monaco side defeated Barcelona on the opening week of the group phase before drawing at Dinamo Zagreb.

Victory tonight would see them top the group ahead of the remaining fixtures on Tuesday evening.

Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Juventus are among the teams that could overtake them by the end of the night, with seven matches still to be played after the early kick-offs.

Red Star, meanwhile, lost both of their opening Champions League group stage fixtures to Benfica and Inter Milan respectively.

They suffered a 4-0 away defeat to Inter, with this match seeing them concede four goals in a European fixture for the second consecutive matchweek.
