The 37-year-old came on as a second-half substitute in Slovakia for her first appearance since getting injured playing for Seattle Reign in early September.

“We are putting out the team that we know is going to deliver, as we did in the last game,” Wilkinson added.

“We didn’t live up to our expectations of ourselves but we go again with the team we think is going to get a result.”

Wales, who will be backed by a sizeable Cardiff crowd, will attempt to maintain the momentum they found in the closing stages in Slovakia having struggled for much of that game.

Nevertheless, the vastly experienced Fishlock says Wilkinson’s team must stay patient as they welcome a Slovakia side who had not won in six matches before the first leg.

“Honestly I don’t think we need to be chasing anything. We are one goal down at this point and there’s 90 minutes of play, so we don’t need to panic,” she said.

“At the end of the day we had a bad game.

“The coaching staff have made their points quite clear. It’s up to us now to put in a performance that we all know we are capable of doing.”
