The government will open six new culture business centers in Europe by the end of 2024 and five more around the world next year, the Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca) said Wednesday.

Kocca opened new culture business centers in London, Frankfurt and Milan in October. The first culture business center was opened in 2019 in France.

The London office kicked off with an inaugural media art exhibition titled “The Oulim” at the Saatchi Gallery on Oct. 23, emphasizing the London center’s focus on the convergence of technology and entertainment.

The German business center opened up with the 2024 Frankfurt Book Fair on Oct. 17 with the aim of supporting content companies concentrating on the publishing market, especially online literature and webtoons.

The Italian business center, located in the heart of the European fashion market, will endeavor to fuse K-content and K-fashion in the local market.

Three more culture business centers will be set up in Madrid, Stockholm and Istanbul by the end of the year, according to the content agency.

“The expansion is symbolic of the importance of the European market in K-content export,” Kocca said in a press release. “We will continue our efforts to spearhead the expansion of content market and enhance the export of related businesses through the newly-opened business centers.”

Five more overseas culture business centers will open next year in Poland, Chile, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Dallas in United States, according to Kocca.
