“This year the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs selected me as one of 75 young foreign personalities worldwide to come to France as part of the fully funded programme for inviting future personalities (PIPA),” said Mayor Bensouda of the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC).
Created in 1989 and placed under the responsibility of the Center for Analysis, Forecasting and Strategy (CAPS) of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Invitation Program for Future Personalities (PIPA) offers future leaders from the world of politics or civil society the fully funded opportunity to stay in France to hold high-level meetings related to their activities.
Since Monday, Mayor Bensouda has been honoured with a conducted tour of vital MDAs including the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate General for Local Authorities (DGCL) at the French Ministry of Interior, the Directorate of Globalization, Paris City Council, IRIS – Institute for International and Strategic Relations, Syctom and CiTeo, where he held series of strategic meetings that have given him an in-depth outlook on opportunities for collaboration and partnership between French institutions and the KMC.
“The highlight of my meetings was a visit to the Senate (Senat) where I had a one-on-one with the Vice President of the Commission of Regional Planning and sustainable Development Senator Mme Marta de CiDRAC and a rare opportunity to witness a live senate session (no cameras allowed),” the KMC Mayor said.
The line of activities also took him to Bordeaux where he engaged in building “critical partnerships for the KMC”.
