Northern Ireland’s Nations League match with Belarus will be played at Windsor Park on Friday November 15 following the UK Government’s decision to grant the visiting party visas.

The game had been thrown into doubt due to the UK Government’s policy of not awarding visitors from Belarus visas due to the eastern European nation’s involvement in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Late last month, the Irish FA signalled that they were “confident” the game would be played at Windsor Park. With the UK Government now set to award the Belarus team visas, the match is set to go ahead as planned.

Last month, Northern Ireland drew 0-0 with Belarus. The behind-closed-doors fixture was staged in Hungary due to the restrictions placed on Belarus by Uefa. Russia’s national team and club sides are banned from all Uefa and FIfa competitions due to the war in Ukraine.

Northern Ireland are currently top of the group that also includes Bulgaria and Luxembourg. Following the clash with Belarus in Belfast, Michael O’Neill’s team travel to Luxembourg for the final match of the six-game campaign.
