Hospitality company Hilton has planned to expand in Italy by signing two new hotel agreements, including DoubleTree by Hilton Naples Oriente in Naples and Hampton by Hilton Rome St Peter’s in Rome.
Scheduled to open next year, both hotels will operate under franchise agreements. The Naples-based hotel will be run under Italyhotelmanagement Srl with Hampton by Hilton Rome St Peter’s operating under F.G.N Horn Srl.
The 124-room Hampton by Hilton Rome St Peter’s is set to become the Hilton’s first central Rome establishment and is located near Via Gregorio VII and the Vatican City. It is scheduled to open next March.
The 112-room DoubleTree by Hilton Rome St Peter’s will mark the brand’s debut in the city. This full-service, centrally located property will feature a gym, an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop and meeting rooms for business guests.
Guests staying at either hotel can earn points through the Hilton Honors programme, which has more than 200 million members worldwide.
These additions will join Hilton’s Italian portfolio of 99 hotels, which are either trading or in the pipeline, including recent openings such as the Anglo American Hotel Florence, Curio Collection by Hilton, and Hilton Garden Inn Milan Malpensa.
Hilton Southern Europe development vice president Alan Mantin said: “We continue to experience significant growth across Italy – with more than 2,000 rooms in our pipeline – and are pleased to announce two additional signings across our full and focused service brands.
“With nearly 60 million visitors to Italy in 2023, we are excited to offer travellers further accommodation options in the vibrant cities of Rome and Naples with DoubleTree by Hilton Naples Oriente and Hampton by Hilton Rome St Peter’s.”
Last year, Hilton announced plans for Italy’s first LXR Hotels & Resorts property, the Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda, which is set to open in 2026.
