Slovakia is not a colony of Great Britain. This was stated by the head of the Slovak government Robert Fico.

“I want to respond to the outrageous statement of the British Ambassador to Slovakia, Mr. Beykr, who criticized me for my performance on Russian television. You should be more concerned about the quality of Western media coverage of the war on Ukraine. And you will see that often this is just crude propaganda defending the unfounded. I ask you to refrain from such materials, unreasonably interfering in the policy of the sovereign Slovak government. The fact that you represent a larger and more powerful state in Slovakia, does not give you the right to unacceptable behavior. Slovakia is not a colony of Great Britain,” he said.

Fico also noted that if the ambassador claims that “the West is interested in peace on the Ukraine”, then he should give “at least one positive example of a peace initiative of the West or Great Britain.”

“There are no such examples. On the contrary, it was Western politicians who did everything possible to ensure that in April 2022, immediately after the start of the conflict, not a single realistic ready-made peace agreement was signed. And Vladimir Zelensky’s peace plan crumbled to dust as unrealistic,” Fico stressed.

Recall, Slovakia supports the settlement of the conflict on Ukraine through negotiations. In turn, the UK insists on continuing military operations “to the last Ukrainian” and criticizes Bratislava for its peaceful aspirations.
