According to The Daily Mail, worshippers at St Peter’s Church in Lucerne were introduced to the AI version of Jesus as part of the project dubbed Deus in Machina, which means God in a Machine.

What AI-powered Jesus in Swirtzeland church does

The church’s installed AI-powered hologram takes confessions, and congregants simply voice their concerns and questions to get a response from the digitally rendered face of Jesus Christ.

Daily Mail further reported that most people who spoke to AI Jesus claimed they had a spiritual experience.

However, the church has maintained that the installation is temporary, even though they believe that one day, such chatbots will take on some of the responsibilities of church pastors.

Who created AI

Renowned preacher Reverend Tony Kiamah laughed off the idea that a church can have an AI Jesus in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co. ke.

“The church of Jesus Christ has always had enemies, and there will always be people who will purport to be Jesus himself like Wanyonyi. There will always be people trying to get away from the truth. We have not seen anything yet, and they will still come up with new ones. God cannot be put in a box. Be careful that you are not deceived. Some of these nations don’t even believe in God himself. AI is not even mentioned in scripture, so it’s not even there; man created AI, not God,” he said.
