According to him, certain groups in the countries of Old Europe have begun to take cautious steps to address serious problems associated with illegal migration, because it is of great concern to them.
“We see that for our neighbors – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia – this [topic] is an opportunity to increase their political and economic weight, to present themselves as ‘a shield’, to get money from the European Union and embezzle it. We are aware of these corruption schemes that occasionally slip into the public space,” the Belarusian foreign minister emphasized.
