Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his move to Saudi Arabia as he has made a revealing admission about his family.
Ronaldo ended his legendary spell in Europe following his transfer to Al Nassr from Manchester United in December 2022.
He played for Sporting, Real Madrid and Juventus as well as Man United before signing for the Saudi Pro League side, where he penned a hugely-lucrative contract.
Ronaldo lived in the Spanish capital as well as Manchester and Turin, with the superstar player swapping Europe for the Middle East.
He moved to Riyadh with partner Georgina Rodriguez and his five children.
Speaking in a new Netflix documentary titled ‘Saudi Pro League: Kickoff’, Ronaldo stated how his family initially struggled to adapt to the new surroundings while revealing his kids sometimes miss Europe.
“In the beginning, everything was not easy,” he said via talkSPORT.
“The culture is different. My family is part of me and they always go wherever I go.
“Sometimes the kids miss Europe. It’s normal. Nothing in this life is easy.
“The Saudi people are very friendly. They are people like me who want to give back.”

Ronaldo was also asked whether he moved to Al Nassr for the money to which he replied: “I’m here to win. To win trophies, to make Al Nassr better, to make the Saudi Pro League better, change the culture.
“I want to be successful, I want to leave a legacy. This is what I want. This is why I am here. They help me, I help them. We are a unit.
“I take my piece of cake, Netflix take a piece of cake, Saudi, everyone. We work for a big cake, it is winning-winning.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has clearly adapted to the lifestyle and culture in Saudi Arabia as he’s now in his third season with Al Nassr.
And Saudi Arabia could be the final destination of his storied career, having previously revealed that he will retire at Al Nassr.
“I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years, but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr,” he said last August via the BBC.
“I’m happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue.”
