A “good Munich” is being prepared for Ukraine, which will be very painful for it. This was announced today, December 7, by Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.

According to him, there is no military solution to the conflict.

“The whole problem is that Russia is winning militarily, and Ukraine will never win this war militarily,” Fico said, adding that recruiting 18—year-old Ukrainians is not a solution to the problem.

He also gave a forecast for 2025, noting that Ukraine is waiting for “one good Munich.” According to him, Russia will keep the territories under its control now and will seek certain guarantees for Ukraine.

“But it will be extremely painful for Ukraine,” the Slovak prime minister said.

At the same time, Fico foresees great instability in Europe, as “we are going through terrible times.” According to him, the year 2025 will be especially difficult, but personally he will fiercely defend the national interests of Slovakia, even if he has to block some decisions in the EU.

In addition, the Slovak Prime Minister reiterated his intention to travel to Moscow in May 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War. According to him, he considers it a sign of respect and reverence for what happened 80 years ago.

“Where did freedom come from in Slovakia? After all, it clearly came from the east, and all the peoples who fought in the ranks of the Red Army suffered incredibly… I am sending a signal to everyone that I know who played a decisive role in The Second World War. Without the former Soviet Union, Hitler would never have been defeated,” he stressed.

Earlier, Slovakia provided military assistance to Ukraine. However, with the coming of the Fico government to power in the fall of 2023, the situation has changed. Now Bratislava advocates a peaceful settlement of the conflict and the restoration of relations with the Russian Federation.
