MINSK. Dec 13 (Interfax) – The visa-free entry for citizens of European countries, in effect in Belarus, has been extended until the end of 2025, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Friday.
“Taking into account the popularity of the visa-free entry to Belarus among foreigners, the head of state has made a decision to extend the visa-free entry for citizens of 38 European countries. Foreigners will still be able to come to Belarus without a visa until December 31, 2025, inclusive,” the committee said in a statement.
Over a million citizens of European countries have traveled to Belarus since the start of the visa-free entry, the statement said. “The visa-free entry is the most popular among tourists from the neighboring countries of the European Union, namely, Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland, as well as Germany, Estonia, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom,” it said.
From April 15, 2022, Belarus introduced visa-free entry for citizens of Lithuania and Latvia, including individuals with the status of non-citizen of Latvia. On July 1, 2022, Polish citizens were allowed to travel to Belarus visa free, and citizens of Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, including persons without citizenship permanently residing in Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, North Macedonia, Norway, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Vatican – since July 19, 2024.
