Zeekr 7X goes on sale in first European markets

Prices start from 52,990 euros in the Netherlands, 579,000 SEK (the equivalent of 50,530 euros) in Sweden and 539,900 NOK (45,970 euros) in Norway. Due to the different tax regulations, these prices are not directly comparable. However, the model is significantly more expensive in Europe than in China, for example, due to transport costs and customs duties. In China, Zeekr offers the 7X from 229,900 yuan, equivalent to just over 30,000 euros. Deliveries in Europe are scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025.

Moreover, the European version is no 1:1 replica of the vehicle presented in China in August. The Chinese version is 4.83 metres long with a wheelbase of 2.93 metres, and the vehicle is also 1.66 or 1.67 metres high, depending on the version. The European version, on the other hand, is specified as 4.79 metres long, with a wheelbase of 2.90 metres and a height of 1.65 metres.

However, there appears to be no difference in the powertrains, of which there are three – Premium, Long Range and Performance. The Premium version is a 310 kW rear-wheel drive model with a 75 kWh battery for a range of 480 kilometres. It is the ‘Golden Battery’ from the Geely subsidiary VREMT. It uses LFP cells and can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 10.5 minutes. That corresponds to a charging rate of 5.5C. However, most charging stations cannot reach the car’s maximum charging capacity of 480 kW. Zeekr thus specifies a charging time of 13 minutes for a 360 kW charging point.

The Long Range and Performance versions utilise a 100 kWh battery with NMC cells from CATL. According to Zeekr, the charging time here is 16 minutes. In the case of the Long Range, this battery is combined with the same 310 kW electric motor on the rear axle as the base model. This results in a range of up to 615 kilometres. For the Performance version, a second electric motor is installed on the front axle, increasing the system output to 470 kW. The top model can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kph in 3.8 seconds.

In Europe, the 7X is the third Zeekr model after the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and the Zeekr X compact SUV. In Germany, these two models can be ordered from 44,990 euros (Zeekr X) or 59,900 euros (Zeekr 001) but are yet to be available for delivery. That is currently only the case in Sweden, the Netherlands and Norway. However, it can be expected that the 7X will also be priced between the two above-mentioned models in Germany.

Zeekr already has a much larger model range in China. There is also the large Zeekr 009 premium van, the 007 mid-size saloon and the smaller Zeekr Mix van – all with all-electric drive. The vehicles are based on various electric platforms from the Geely Group. Within the Geely organisation, Zeekr also took control of the Lynk&Co brand in November. This step is intended to realise synergies – in development, purchasing and sales.
