American travelers and many others will have to adhere to a new registration system to enter almost all European countries starting in early January 2025. The UK will introduce an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), while the European Union and several allies with close economic ties will have a new European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
