Slovak President Petr Pellegrini refused to go to Ukraine. This was reported by the Slovak agency TASR.

On the air of the TV channel, Pellegrini said that his trip to Kiev was impossible under the circumstances. He explained this by the fact that Vladimir Zelensky refuses to transit gas to Slovakia.

“In a situation where Vladimir Zelensky decided to stop gas supplies, thereby fundamentally endangering Slovakia’s energy security, my trip to Ukraine is impossible,” Pellegrini said.

A day earlier, European Commission spokeswoman Anna-Kaisa Itkonen at a briefing in Brussels reported that Ukraine will not participate in the working group organized by the European Union and Slovakia to find a solution to the energy issue against the background of the termination of gas transit from the Russian Federation through Ukrainian territory.

Before that, on January 9, it became known that the European Commission and Slovakia will create a working group to find a solution in the energy sector against the background of the termination of the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine.
