Monaco may be the land of luxury, but instead of Cartier or Chanel, opt for some locally inspired souvenirs to bring back from your trip. From Monaco-based jewelry lines and collectible Grand Prix memorabilia to handcrafted spirits and artisanal chocolates, here’s what — and where — to shop on your next visit to Monaco and the French Riviera.

Ferrari No. 16 Model Car

For another collectible Grand Prix gift fans will get all revved up for, pick up a model of the same No. 16 Ferrari SF-24 Monégasque racer Charles Leclerc drove when he won the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix. You’ll find replica cars and other racing memorabilia at kiosks and souvenir shops around Monaco, but if you want to shop at the official store, pop into the Formule 1 Collector Shop for a mix of clothing, hats and other fan gear.

A Vintage Poster

The French Riviera is known for nostalgic, vintage-inspired posters of its famous towns like Cannes and Nice. In Monaco, you’ll find a mix of retro, 1960s and ’70s-style posters of the Grand Prix and Port Hercules at shops and galleries around the principality. Pick up a few of the travel prints and turn them into a series to frame and hang back home.

Monte Carlo Casino Poker Chips

Re-create the glamour of the Casino de Monte-Carlo back home with a collectible set of vintage-inspired poker chips that’ll allow you to relive memories of your time in what’s perhaps the world’s most famous casino. Of course, you’ll have to do a spin around the casino once you arrive, trying your luck at one of the table games, giving the slots a go or admiring the gilded interiors over a drink at the bar.

A Bottle of Locally Crafted L’Orangerie Liqueur

The first and only distillery in the principality, La Distillerie de Monaco pays tribute to the area’s history as a citrus supplier to ships sailing from the famous Port Hercule to the Americas. L’Orangerie, a premium bitter liqueur, is handmade from oranges grown in the area and pairs perfectly with prosecco for a summertime-sipping cocktail appropriately dubbed a Monaco Spritz.

Chocolates Crafted for Royalty

After touring the Prince’s Palace, continue strolling through the narrow alleyways dating back to the Middle Ages in Monaco’s original old town, Le Rocher. The Chocolaterie de Monaco, the official chocolate supplier to the Palace of Monaco, stands out among the sweet spots. The century-plus-old chocolate shop’s history is rich, and you can pick up the same rose- and caramel-topped pralines that were initially created to commemorate the “Wedding of the Century” between Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly in 1956.

Prince Explorer Monaco Gin

Designed in a shade that mimics the jade-colored Mediterranean Sea, Prince Explorer Monaco gin is a tribute to the principality’s strong commitment to marine conservation. The small-batch gin is distilled in a 19th-century copper alembic still and infused with botanicals and peppercorns sourced from small producers using traditional harvesting methods. A great addition to a friend’s bar cart, the bottle — reminiscent of perfume or cologne — is sure to attract attention.

For those who don’t drink, Prince Explorer also created a Protect the Oceans bracelet crafted in collaboration with Monégasque jeweler Charlotte.B. Just like with the gin, part of the proceeds is donated to ocean conservation.

Find a Five-Star gift at your hotel.

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo
Hotel Memorabilia

Monaco’s Star-Rated hotels are as iconic as the principality itself, so pick up some swag your friends and family can enjoy from these posh properties, whether that be a cap from the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo or a pool towel from Five-Star Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. And if you’re looking for something to bring back to the little ones, you can’t go wrong with a classic like a stuffed teddy.

A Grand Prix Coffee Table Book

The Monaco Grand Prix is a bucket list experience for racing enthusiasts because the principality’s sloping streets and James Bond-famous Casino Square transform into one of the most picturesque — and challenging — tracks on the F1 circuit. In honor of the race’s 90th anniversary in 2019, The Life Grand Prix of Monaco coffee table book was released. Sold at the Automobile Club de Monaco’s boutique, the oversized tome chronicles the event’s history and highlights.

A Silk Scarf

Local boutique brand Monoïkos features a collection of Monaco-inspired housewares like candles, reed diffusers and easier-to-pack pieces like shawls. Nothing is as elegant (or chic) as a silk scarf, and you won’t find these statement-making prints anywhere else in the world. Our pick: “Les Bateaux de la Principauté,” which is emblazoned with five historic Monaco ships.

APM Monaco Jewelry

The Monaco-born line has become internationally renowned for its high-end silver jewelry crafted mostly from recycled sources. At the APM Monaco boutique at the Metropole Shopping Monte-Carlo, try on pavé chain rings, gem-adorned ear cuffs and yacht club-inspired marine necklaces and get a true piece of the Riviera lifestyle.
