The betting is wide open in this clash as they both sit well above evens and the draw is only at 5/2 with no real clear favourite.
Despite being away from home Aston Villa are no bigger than 17/10 which goes to show how strong they’ve been in the Champions League.
Something they’ve not really been able to replicate and continue in the Premier League as they’ve slumped down to eighth place having previously been challenging for a top four spot.
But they’ve had some great recent results including a 2-2 draw against Arsenal in second place, a 2-1 win over Man City back in December and a couple of wins on top of that over Everton and Leicester.
Monaco are fourth in Ligue 1 with a similar kind of form and placing to Aston Villa, as they sit 15 points off the top placed PSG and still have work to do to reach the Champions League spots.
Villa have only lost once in the Champions League so far this season though while the French League outfit sit in 16h with two straight losses which saw them sacrifice their previous unbeaten run of four games.
Monaco lost last Friday against Montpellier and haven’t won in the league since December 7th.
They’ve lost to Arsenal (3-0) and Benfica in their last two UCL matches and their only recent win was a French Cup Round of 64 4-1 victory over L’Union Saint-Jean who play in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine way down in the French football system in the regional leagues.
As a result of their poor recent form, Villa look a great price to continue their great form in the UCL and their recent unbeaten streak.

Ollie Watkins has now scored three in his last four league games having previously gone four games without a goal.
He was out of the starting lineup in each of those appearances though and only got a a maximum of 45 minutes in those substitute appearances.
Now he’s back starting again playing 90 minutes he’s continuing his great consistent form in the league with more goals – taking his tally to ten for the season.
Duran replaced Watkins for those four games he wasn’t in the starting XI and responded to the game time with three goals in three appearances including against Man City and Nottingham Forest.
Despite only playing 598 minutes this season in the league he’s managed to net seven.
He’s also got three in the Champions League and can’t be ruled out from making an appearance and scoring which may be something to keep in mind for an in-play bet when coming on in the second half.
