Romania posted the sharpest annual decline in construction output among EU countries, for which data is available, in November, at 9.5%, while Slovenia came in third with 4.2%, the bloc’s statistical office said on Monday.
During the same month, Bulgaria recorded the EU’s second-highest year-on-year increase in construction production, at 8.6%, preceded only by Spain with 9.8%, Eurostat said in a monthly report.
On a monthly comparison basis, Slovenia’s construction output marked the largest rise in the bloc, at 9.5%, whereas Romania ranked third with 4.7%.
Bulgaria, on the other hand, saw the lowest monthly gain in construction production among Southeast European (SEE) member states, for which data is available, with a growth of 1.7%.
Overall, construction output in the EU ticked up 0.9% in annual terms and by 1.3% month-on-month in November.
