Eurovision is upon us and the singers who participated in the Sanremo 2025 Festival are aiming for the San Marino Song Contest – previously known as “Una voce per San Marino” – as a showcase to obtain a valid place for participation in the continental singing event which will be held in Basel, Switzerland.
Eurovision Song Contest, Italian Singers Aim for San Marino Song Contest
The Italian singers, including many of those who participated in the recent Festival of Sanremo they would be thinking of participating in the singing contest which will be held in the “Teatro nuovo della Dogana” next Saturday March 8.
As reported by AdnKronos and subsequently by the website Leggo.it to this event, conducted by Flora Canto and Francesco Facchinetti, there could be some Italian singers who would aim to get the first place. At the moment there are no official names but the curiosity to see if there could be valid songs is growing.
Previous tricolours at this event
The possibility of seeing an Italian song win at this event is not that remote given that in 2022 the winner was Achille Lauro with the song “Stripper” fresh from the Sanremo Festival.
Last year he participated Loredana Berté with the song “Pazza” coming in second place behind the Spanish band “Mergara” and the song “11:11”.
There are only 8 places for the final and 50 songs will be admitted to participate. The challenge will certainly not be easy.
