(Reuters) – Slovenia will respect arrest warrants for Israel and Hamas leaders issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) and “will fully comply”, Prime Minister Robert Golob was quoted as saying by Slovenian news agency STA late on Thursday.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence chief, as well as a Hamas leader Ibrahim Al-Masri, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza conflict.

Slovenia became in June the latest European Union country to recognise an independent Palestinian state after its parliament approved the move with majority vote.
