Botchorishvili briefed her Austrian counterpart on Georgia’s October general elections and the involvement of international observers in the vote, the Foreign Ministry said.
At the meeting, the conversation also focused on the security environment in the region, with the Georgian Minister providing information to Schallenberg on the “difficult situation” in Georgia’s Russian-occupied territories.
Botchorishvili expressed gratitude to the Austrian official for his country’s “steadfast support” of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as “for supporting Georgia’s European aspirations”, while Schallenberg pledged Austria would “continue to stand by Georgia on its path to EU membership”.
