This Saturday, some of the domestic competitions across Europe will resume after a short hiatus. The Bundesliga sees Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich exchange blows at Borussia-Park, while in Ligue 1, Rennes will be aiming to return to winning ways as they play hosts to Marseille. Last but not least, Sevilla and Valencia will both avoid dropping points as they clash in the 19th round of La Liga.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Bayern Munich

Borussia Monchengladbach will be aiming to make it three wins in a row when they play host to Bayern Munich. The home team’s last match in the league saw them defeat Hoffenheim 2-1 away from home.

The Borussia-Park is where most of their success has stemmed from this season and will want to capitalize on their home advantage. Coming into this clash, they are unbeaten in six games (W5, D1).

Bayern Munich did manage to redeem themselves with a 5-1 home thrashing of RB Leipzig. This result served as consolation for their unexpected 2-1 away defeat against Mainz.

Away from home, the Bundesliga giants have seen a decline in form failing to win their last two matches and will be aiming to return to the win column.

Bayern Munich are favorites here, and I’m not against any of that. However, their recent away form has me doubtful on whether or not to pick them up in the full-time market. The home team can make life difficult for them, and I see them adopting an offensive approach here throughout the whole game. This is why I’m backing them to find the back of the net here.

Sevilla vs. Valencia

Sevilla was on the receiving end of a 4-1 away defeat against Almeria in the Copa Del Rey. This result extended their losing streak to two games across all competitions, including a convincing 4-2 league defeat at the hands of Real Madrid.

Valencia knows the importance of securing maximum points here, as it would be a step closer to getting out of the relegation zone. However, recent results in La Liga haven’t gone their way as they have failed to win in any of their six matches (D2, L4). Their most recent defeat was a 2-1 home loss against Real Madrid.

This shouldn’t deflate their motivation as they head into this clash after seeing off the threat of Eldense in a 2-0 away win in the Copa Del Rey. Perhaps that could give them the edge here.

Both sides have been in poor form in the league, and because of this, I’m keeping away from the full-time market as the result could go sideways. Considering that neither team has been solidly defensive in their past matches, I anticipate seeing goals at both ends of the pitch.

Rennes vs. Marseille

Rennes has been in poor form in Ligue 1 as they head into this clash with just two wins in their last seven matches, including five losses. In their last league match, they succumbed to a 3-2 away defeat against Nice and will hope for a more improved result this time.

Currently, they occupy 13th place in the league standings and are three points behind tenth-placed Strasbourg.

Marseille, on the other hand, has been in excellent form, avoiding defeat in their last six matches across all competitions (W5, D1). Their most recent win came against struggling side Le Havre, winning 5-1 at home in a league clash.

The visitors are second in the league standings and are seven points behind table-toppers. They’ve also maintained a three-point cushion over third-placed Monaco.

Rennes has performed much better at home, and I see them causing their opponents a headache. Marseille has been the better side on paper this season, but this could turn out to be a very competitive match. I’m expecting to see goals at both ends of the pitch, although I’m not ruling out a narrow win for the visiting team.
