Got your sights set on a European road trip adventure for 2025?

Look no further than Norway’s Atlantic Road, hailed as one of the globe’s most picturesque drives. This marvel of engineering offers unrivalled vistas of Norway’s rugged coastline and is completely toll-free, linking a string of islands to the mainland with its impressive sea-crossing bridges.

Although it spans a mere 8km, travellers can enhance their journey with additional boat excursions or scenic walks. On Tripadvisor, an awestruck ‘Jules C’ shared: “One of the most beautiful wonders of the earth, a must-visit when in Norway. Very picturesque and scenic views.”

Echoing this sentiment, ‘Chrissieb94’ expressed admiration for the construction: “What a feat of engineering this is! It is a collection of bridges joining numerous islands.”

Meanwhile ‘Ge S’ was captivated by the unique landscape: “Splendid spectacular views on this stretch of road lying between Molde and Kristiansund. It stretched over small islands – just extremely unique road and beautiful.”

The route’s beauty peaks on sunny days but takes on a dramatic edge during stormy weather, reports the Express. With photo-op spots dotted along the way and even snorkelling trips up for grabs, it’s a dream for any photography enthusiast or nature lover.

Given that Norway boasts one of the world’s longest coastlines, it’s a prime pick for those craving endless ocean views. Before setting off, road trippers are advised to check the weather forecast and pack ample supplies.
